Media Liaison

Generating maximum press coverage for our client is critical to the operation of any SYS yacht. As such the relationship between SYS and the press is critical. We work closely with the Public Relations team from our client to achieve this objective. SYS has the capacity to manage all media communications on behalf of our client if need be. We regularly invite journalists and photographers on board to allow them first hand insight into the SYS yacht. We have available press kits and a bank of photographs for use by journalists.

We work with the world's leading marine photographers and film producers to compile a comprehensive bank of photographs and film clips for use by our client and the press. Examples of some of our photographs and film clips can be found in the Image Gallery. We regularly hire helicopters to offer our client the opportunity to capture rare film and photographs of an SYS Maxi in full Ocean Racing mode.

Media Liaison

Before each regatta we recommend setting aside “press time” where we take journalists and photographers sailing allowing on board interviews and the ability for the press to experience first hand what the “Super Maxi Yacht” experience is.

During any regatta our Racing Team provide regular updates by e-mail, satellite telephone and video footage to our client and the race office for distribution to the press and also within the company. Our clients find that these updates help to unify their workforce and build a team atmosphere in the workplace and often they form the basis of a press report on the race.
